Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Errcheck (“Errcheck”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, dashboard, APIs, and SDKs (together, the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and a securely hashed password. We send a one-time passcode to your email to verify it during signup.

Error Data submitted by your integration. When you install our SDK or send events to our ingestion API, we receive and store the data your application sends — typically error messages, stack traces, breadcrumbs, environment and release information, and any custom tags or extra context you choose to include. This data is generated by your applications, and you control its content.

Usage and log data. We collect standard technical information about how you access the Service, such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps, to operate and secure the Service.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and operate the Service;
  • Authenticate your account and communicate with you, including sending verification passcodes and service-related notices;
  • Group, deduplicate, and alert you about errors captured from your applications;
  • Monitor, secure, and improve the reliability of the Service;
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the Service, such as our cloud hosting and email delivery (SMTP) providers, under confidentiality obligations;
  • Other members of your organization who you invite to your Errcheck projects;
  • Authorities, where required to comply with a legal obligation or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Errcheck, our users, or others.

4. Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies and browser storage necessary to keep you signed in and to remember your interface preferences (such as light/dark theme). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Error Data is retained for the period described in your plan, or until you delete the relevant project or account, after which it is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted password storage, authenticated API access, and access controls — to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can update your account details from your dashboard, or contact us at the address below to exercise these rights, including deletion of your account and associated data.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date above.
